Rising Sun Tour 02 Grand Carnival

No-Countout-Match: PG-13 (J.C. Ice and Wolfie D) defeated The Spanish Announce Team (Joel Maximo and Jose Maximo) when J.C. Ice pinned Joel Maximo after a short lariat in 0:24:58. Rating: **** 1/2 [Victor Quinonez and Tiffany interfered against J.C. Ice.] PG-13 open the night with a victory over the SAT's. Jose seemed frusturated with the loss and seemed like he is sick of Tiffany and Quinonez interfering in their matches. No-Countout-Match: Konnan made Vampiro submit to the Tequila Sunrise in 0:15:55. Rating: *** (Konnan won the USWA Global Title.) Vampiro loses his USWA Global title to Konnan in Japan. Vic Quinonez loses the only title he had in his possession. Konnan will return to the states with gold around his waist. No-Countout-Match: Jerry Lynn pinned Chris Hero with the Cradle Piledriver in 0:15:40. Rating: **** Jerry Lynn was able to come back and finish the tour with a win over Chris Hero. Lynn was upset he missed this chance to shine, but USWA officials sent him back for the show knowing how much it meant to him. No-Countout-I-Quit Match: Tazz made Samoa Joe submit to a single-leg takedown into a leglock in 0:09:54. Rating: **** Tazz defeated Samoa Joe in an excellent matchup. Tazz continues to be in the top 10, and a win over a rookie like Joe was big for him to stay in contention. [Tag Team Title Tournament Finals]: No-Countout-Match for the vacant USWA Tag Team Titles: New Europe (David Taylor and Johnny Smith) defeated Altar Boy Luke and Jeremy Ramirez when D. Taylor pinned Luke with the Double Underhook Suplex in 0:23:03. Rating: **** (New Europe won the USWA Tag Team Titles.) [Victor Quinonez interfered against David Taylor.] The win by Taylor and Smith put new Europe in the spotlight of the USWA. NEW TAG TEAM CHAMPS, and Nigel Mcguinnes has his boys in prime position to go after other gold. Victor Quinonez tried to stop New Europe from winning the titles, but like everything going on with the MexiCANS, it didnt work. Quinonez will return to the states a broken man. He needs to regroup his team, and try to put down the New Europe faction. FCA Cubed Match: Too Cold Scorpio defeated Jushin Liger in a Ultimate X Match in 0:17:12. Rating: **** 1/4 (Too Cold Scorpio won the X Division Title.) With AJ Styles injured and unable to defend the title in Japan, the USWA made the decision to strip him of the title and put in on the line against the two top contenders for the title. Local legend Jushin Liger loses to Too Cold giving scorpio his first X-title! Too cold will return to the states, but the rumor is that Liger might follow! Singapore Cane No-Countout-Match: Low-Ki pinned The Sandman with the Ki Crusher in 0:11:29. Rating: *** 1/4 Low-Ki with a victory over Sandman keeps his name in the title picture. The loss in Iwade to New Jack hurt his chances at the title, but with a win over the Sandman, a title shot in March isn't to hard to imagine. No-Countout-Match: New Jack pinned Raven with the Diving Headbutt in 0:09:56. Rating: *** 1/2 (New Jack won the USWA Heavyweight Title.) In what as a shocker to end the Japanese tour New Jack finally sits on top of the USWA. The guy nobody would think could be the champion, defeated the guy nobody could beat Raven. With New Jack at the helm god knows whats going to happen with the title picture. Card rating: *** 3/4 Match observations: Show: Rising Sun Tour Day 10 Date: 2/23/02 Location: Koreuken Hall Attendance: 3,320 Backstage Notes: This has to be one of the biggest shows the USWA has ever ran. EVERY TITLE changed hands tonight. We have a NEW Heavyweight champion as NEW JACK defeated Raven to become the newist champ. The fans of Japan were happy to see New Jack defeat Raven, but there is no doubt they feared him. Too Cold Scorpio will go down in history with the victory winning the X-title. AJ Styles will have something to say about it after he was stripped of the title, but nobody can deny Too Cold, after defeating Jushin Liger in an Ultimate X match. USWA returns to the states next week, and we will see what develops in the x-title scene, new europe, and we will hear from THE NEW USWA CHAMPION NEW JACK!
