USWA Championship TV 12/23/00
Number-One-Contenders-Four Corners Match:
AJ Styles defeated Homicide, The Amazing Red and Paul London when Styles pinned
Homicide with the Styles Clash in 0:19:49.
Rating: * 1/4
Homicide proved he belongs in this division tonight! The triple team was in
full effect tonight on Homicide. London hit him with the London Calling and
he continued to fight. Red refused to tag in and AJ Styles then got his
chances to beat Homicide. FINALLY Styles ended it with a Styles Clash.
AJ will get a shot at the U.S. title next week on TV.
The Heavenly Bodies and The Can-Am Express battled to a draw in 0:15:00.
Rating: * 1/4
a great match that goes the distance. Funas and Lafon are going to want
to try to get into the PE/Bodies tag match at Chaos to get a chance to
be the number one contenders for the tag titles. Lafon took so many Prichard
Piledrivers, I think the fans thought his career would soon be over. This
tag match proves that the USWA has some tuff teams.
Interview:
Ken Shamrock Interview.
Shamrock says he is getting sick of Team Taz. He says Taz is a punk who
got his ass choked out and now he doesn't know what to do. Ken says he is
BY FAR the best submission specialist in the USWA and the Heavyweight Title
is his. Shamrock says Taue doesn't impress him, and the Debut of Kimo means
nothing because he's seen Kimo in the UFC, and he can choke him out too.
Shamrock says he'll get revenge on Taz for costing him the U.S. title last
week.
Rob Van Dam pinned Steve Bradley after a figure-four leglock in 0:01:56.
Rating: ** 1/2
Bradley thought he got screwed on this match, and says he will appeal Bill
Rushs decision. Rob Van Dam has been off to a slow start but wants to get
his name out there before the Royal Rumble.
Jeff Jarrett and Stevie Richards battled to a draw in 0:10:00.
Rating: * 3/4
DUE to TV time limit this match went to a draw, but Richards has been
proving he needs to be taken seriously. He busted Jarrett open bad in
the match.
Kimo and Ricky Morton battled to a draw in 0:10:00.
Rating: 1/2*
another draw due to tv time limits. Kimo with a good debut, Morton pulled out
some of his best moves and Kimo just laughed them off. I think Kimo is
going to be a big player in the USWA.
Interview:
Team Taz Interview
Sonny Ono says Taue is good competition and he will look to bring in more
Japanese shooters to give Taz competition! Taz says that Shamrock should
thank his lucky stars he choked him out because he was never going to submit
in the US tournament. Taz told Shamrock he will be gunning for HIM in the
Rumble and Taue is just a warmup for Chaos!
Brian Lee and Shane Douglas battled to a draw in 0:10:00.
Rating: DUD
Brian Lee looked really good tonight against Douglas. Lee is the head man
in the new Church and he is ready for the Royal Rumble.
Card rating: *

"From the Inside"
USWA officials are not happy with all these draws in matches. They feel the
fans want to see winners and they will try to make some changes to help.
