Match observations:
A Night to Remember
November 4th, 2000
"From the Inside"
By: Corey Macklund
The NEW USWA re-debut was tonight at the Mid South Coliseum, and MAN it was a
hot show. TONS of news coming out of the redebut. Randy Hales opened the show
telling the fans that USWA will be on tour starting in 2 weeks after our TV
show. He also introduced the new owner of the USWA Ted Debiasie! Ted said he
is does not want to take a roll in the program, but wants to see the USWA
suceed.
Jerry Lynn gets his first win over Christopher Daniels in an awesome matchup.
The old Torture Rack made Daniels submit in a hot opening matchup.
The Sandman beat Stevie Richards with his classic Russian Leg Sweep. After
the matchup Richards said that "HE" will soon be here. USWA fans are already
awaiting the arrival of his old boss RAVEN...but when?
Ken Shamrock has made it clear he is going to be a part of the NEW USWA. He has
started a stable for young up and coming stars called the Lions Den. His
assistants? Doug Furnas and Phil Lafon! This is one team I don't want to mess
with.
in an great tag match we had a chance to look at two future superstars in the
business. A.J. Styles and Paul London both made a debut tonight in the USWA,
with a win over The Nasty Boys. Styles brought out his Styles Clash finisher
that jaw dropped the crowd!
In a match the fans all were looking forward to Primetime Brian Lee is BACK
in the USWA and he took on SABU! Sabu has signed an exclusive USWA deal. Later
he learned that so did TAZ! Taz came into the match and delivered a belly to
back suplex that shook the foundation of the Coliseum! Sabu had to be
stretched out of the building and will aparently miss upcoming dates.
ROB Van Dam took on Steve BRadley in what was a match that delivered! The match
was called a no contest when RVD Northen lights bombed Bradley onto a chair and
he was unconsious. The fans want this rematch and soon!
In the MAIN EVENT Lawler brought back Brian Christopher to be his partner to
take on Jeff Jarrett and his opponent. DEEP PURPLE blasted thru the arena, and
Shane DOuglas bursted thru the curtain. Douglas utterly destroyed Jerry Lawler
and stated that he wants to be the next heavyweight champion!
