Lucas Oil Motocross!

On the 4th or July weekend we took to the road and head to Buchanan, Michigan to shoot for NBC Sports Motorcross racing "Red Budd 250". It

was a nice 9 hour drive out of the DC area, but we stayed right near Notre Dame college, and had a great day of shooting. Using a Sony HD camera with 32x HD lens, I shot the turn 10 camera for five different dirtbike races. Even in the 90+ degree heat, we had a great time. Two of our races live on the interent and are currently archived on the net! Another was taped forthe weekend on Speed Channel, and the last was LIVE on NBC! It was a great race and a great weekend of Motocross weekend. Looking to do more races this upcoming season!

MLB.TV Commercial Shoot

On August 5th in Aberdeen, Md at Ripken Stadium I was able to work with Cal and Billy Ripken to shoot a promotional commercial spot for the Ripken Youth Baseball World Series that will be aired on MLB.TV. The shoot included B-roll of the kids at the academy along with a 15 second spot featuring Cal Ripken Jr, Billy Ripken, and some of the youth players. The shoot was outdoors and was shot in DVC Pro 50 16:9 using the Panasonic SDX900 series camera. We used 2 wireless Lavs and a boom mic and an Sure FP 33 mixer for all our audio purposes.. We used a hardpanel reflector for our fill, but in the end we had an overcast day. The Reflector worked out more like a sound blanket to cover the wind than it did for its purposes as a fill instrument. Overall it was a great day to be at the ballpark! The Cal Ripken World Series will premier on MLB.TV August 14th-22nd.

Washington Divas casting demo

Through word of mouth a client recently came to us about shooting a 40 minute interview and walk through of her apartment complex to try out for a reality tv show that will be filmed in the Washington DC area. Using the Panasonic HPX 200 camera, a Lowel DP lighting kit, and wireless lav, we were able shoot and edit a nice interview that was delivered to the production company on DVD on a three day turnaround. The client received a followup from the casting company about doing an in person interview. A quality demo set her aside from the typical interviews that were turned in by others.

Ocean City Air Show

Burning River VIdeo was recently asked to help in the production of a live webcast of the 2009 Ocean City Air show in Ocean City Maryland. With two Panasonic HVX 200 cameras, a fly pack switcher and audio kit and the help of Live Media Now, this production went off without a hitch. Burning River was contracted to take care of the technical production of the event. Setting up all the gear for the live production of the air show, and local interviews with the pilots and sponsors of the event. Although the weather didn't cooperate, we were able to get the word out about the U.S. Airforce and the traveling Air Shows to thousands on the web!

The Nostradamus Effect

Through Creative Video of Washington, and Workaholic Productions in L.A. California, I have recently worked as an assistant camera operator on the History Channel series, The Nostradamus Effect. With a traveling production company doing interviews in Washington DC, they needed a clean comforable studio with Green Screen capabilities to ensure their interviews were completed within their budget and on time! Through Creative Video I ordered the equipment that was required to finish this HD Shoot, and set up our studio with all the lighting necessary to shoot clean on the Green Screen. I also operated the Sony HVR-V1 Camera for all the cutaway shots during the interviews. Look for the series to begin in the late summer / early fall 2009 on the History Channel.

Challenge America

You can read more about this event on creative video of Washington's website. but in June through Creative Video, I recently shot a four camera switch of the Challenge America Music Gala that took place at the Kennedy Center in downtown Washington DC. This was the kickoff to a cause that helps support returning veterans with any help they might need getting back into society as a civilian. I helped set up the Projection using two stacked 12,000 ANSI Eiki XT 4 projectors. Once the projection was in place I shot the event using our Hitachi 3000 cameras with a 40x Lens attachment so we could get detailed upclose shots of the instruments that were used by the perfomers, such as Darius Rucker, Amy Grant, and Vince Gill.
